On July 31, 2023, PT. Black Bear Resources Indonesia (BBRI) has successfully commissioned its Ammonium Nitrate Granulation (AN Granules) plant, becoming the first producer of AN Granules in Indonesia.

BBRI’s AN Granulation plant has a production capacity of 40,000 tons per year and uses technology from CFI Group, one of the world’s leading ammonium nitrate technology licensors. CFI Group’s technology prioritizes the highest safety standards to ensure that the plant is operated safely and in an environmentally friendly manner.

For the BBRI AN Granulation plant the CFI Group’s selected technology comprising an air swept falling film evaporator to increase the concentration of the ammonium nitrate prior to granulation. The technology includes also the full set of safety devices and applies best practices of operation management for such a process. After concentration, the ammonium nitrate solution is transferred to the fluidized rotary granulator. The granulator receives the granulation seed material which is recycled product. Product from the granulator is transferred to a sizing screen, from which marketable product is sent to a rotary cooler drum for further cooling, and then to coating.
